Utah for the 4th

It took a really long time for us to get to Utah. Not because we live 10 hours away.... but because we had some car problems. This picture was when we got stuck the 2nd time and Greg and Holly were driving us to Checker Auto Parts to get our alternator fixed and Mark was with the tow truck. These kids were so tired. When we got to Checkers, the kids ran around and played tag for the hour and a half. We didn't get back on the road until almost midnight and drove an hour past Las Vegas before finding a hotel. We finally got settled in our hotel about 4 AM. Pretty crazy!!

This was the next day. Our kids were so tired of sitting in their seats so we let them get out and lay down for a little bit. Elli and Braeden wanted to pretend they were sleeping.... hence the funny looking sleepy faces.

And FINALLY..... we made it to Provo!! We were hungry and were tired of being in the car so we decided to get out and eat somewhere. We went to Bajio. The guy behind the counter making our food asked us if we were from Colorado City. Made us laugh..... Holly and I had no makeup on from traveling and we had lots of kids. But REALLY???? Colorado City???? I didn't think we looked that bad!!

Braeden was a little upset that his bean burro had cheese even though we asked for it not to. But we still made him eat it. I'm not sure why he really hates cheese, but it drives me crazy sometimes.  Isn't cheese like the best thing there is. It makes so many things taste good!!

Our little Sarah!! Such a cute little girl!!

We decided to go hang out at the Provo River for a bit until we could get into the house we were staying in.

Mark was teaching the kids how to skip rocks. So they are trying to find the perfect rocks.

The next day we went to Park City to ride the Alpine Slide. We took the ski lifts up the mountain to get to the top. The kids thought that was the coolest thing. Kirk was behind us and he is the family photographer..... so he took a picture of us on the chairlift.

The whole gang at the top of the mountain

Elli got to go with her dad.

I felt bad for Stacy... she got stuck behind Braeden who was a little worried about going fast. But Caleb screamed the whole way down just because. He wasn't scared or anything... he was just having fun and thought he needed to scream. It was really fun!!

After... since Holly didn't get to ride the slide with us (she needed to stay with her baby) we waited for her to take her turn. So we got snow cones and chilled for a bit.

Then the kids decided they wanted to do the jumping thing....

We tried to convince Elli that it would be fun to do a flip, but she was so scared to do it. After she got done.... she promised us she would do a flip if she could go again. But NO WAY Elli, that line took way too long to get through.

Then there's Braeden who did nothing but flips. He jumped so high sometimes.... you could tell he got scared a little bit.

There was happiness for a bit.....

Then we had a few breakdowns.... I don't even know why they got sad

But I love this face..... so classic

And yes... even Caleb decided to do a little crying.  Surprise Surprise!!

On Sunday, we drove to Salt Lake and walked around Temple Square.  We sat down for a bit and Caleb showed me this..... This is his Superman water.  He took the wrapper off and stuck it like Superman's cape. Funny kid!!!

This was the moment Caleb realized that this building was the same exact as the real temple. It was funny watching him look at both and realize that.

On the way back to the cabin, Caleb decided he didn't want to watch the movie that was on in the car. He was being a stinker about it. So Mark told him to not watch it and close his eyes. So he did.

Went fishing early one morning. Braeden caught this.

Then had to kiss it

Caleb had to touch it

Elli needed to get wet

Then got mad about getting wet

Braeden taking his fishing seriously

Braeden was lucky to get to go to the Stadium of Fire this year. Aunt Stacy had an extra ticket and invited him to go. This was them being funny.

We had a BBQ the night of 4th of July. Mark and his brothers had a redneck beard contest. Mark took this one serious to prove he was the most redneck out of the brothers.  I actually think he looks really disgusting and I let him know this!!

He won.

The last day we went on the Heber Creeper Train Ride.  I felt so bad because we missed the first part of train ride. But the kids still had fun being on a real train!

We had a lot of fun!!

We drove home with no problems and had a fun time being in Utah!!

That looks like the Best 4th of July EVER!!
Do they call it the creeper train because it's so run down and "creepy" looking?! ;)
I'm jealous you got to do the slides!! I want to do that!
