I'm Scared to Drive...

I was driving around running some errands with Braeden & Elli last week when we saw a truck ram into another car which rammed into another truck.  Well, I didn't actually see the accident because I was looking at something else, but I heard it. I saw the guy in the front truck get mad because he got hit. But anyway, this was the conversation I had with Braeden right after this happened....

B- "I'm kind of scared to drive. I was in a car accident before with the Miller's and it was scary."
(OK, so this "accident" he is talking about was my sister pulling out of the driveway and bumping into another car. But Braeden calls it an accident.)

Me- "You won't be scared when it comes time to learn, you'll be excited."

B- "I'll just make my wife drive me around."

CLASSIC!! Love the things this kid says!!

Braeden's Big Day!!

Braeden got baptized last Saturday and woke up to this poster board. I thought It would be fun for him. It's kind of cheezy and I had to stick a Milky Way bar in there somehow because that is his favorite candy bar.

Mark baptized him

These girls were absolutely cute!! They sang "I Know That My Savior Loves Me" and everyone loved it! Look how gorgeous each of them are!! I love Elli and Blayke holding hands!!

Grandma Dianna and Grandpa Bob with all the grandkids.

It was a fabulous day! I couldn't have asked for a better day for Braeden. He woke up excited, but very calm about being baptized. He was very sure about his decision and understood the reason we get baptized. The program was perfect and we had a lot of family there. Thanks to everyone who made this day so special to Braeden.

After the baptism, we went to BJ's with the older boys and got a sitter for the little ones. This was them being crazy in the back of the big bus we drove to the restaurant. We had a big party so they had to seat us a 2 separate tables. Braeden sat with all his cousins at a different table.
He had a lot of fun ordering his food by himself. This is what the waitress came and told me after he ordered his food.....

"So he was very persistent on having his hamburger with no cheese and then adding lettuce and tomatoes. Then he asked for Garlic Cheese Bread as his side dish but without the cheese. And then a Sprite." It cracked me up how he knew exactly what he wanted without me there helping him. And when it was time for dessert, he asked if he could have his own Kids Pazookie and I couldn't say no to that cute face, so he got one. I asked him if he had a fun dinner and he said, "Yep!!"

I love my Dude!!

A Week with A LOT of Bakers

Mark's brother and wife (Greg & Holly) went on a business trip for a week back east and asked if Mark and I would babysit their kids. We said Yes and for a week, we had a house full...... 9 kids to be exact.  That sounds crazy... and it was at times... but it was actually not as bad as it seemed.  We only had 3 little ones there during the day and their 13 year old daughter is home taught so she was there to help out.

Caleb and Logan. Best buddies to be. They had fun playing with each other.

It couldn't have rained at a better time.  Just as the kids were getting antsy and ready to eat dinner, it starts raining. So they all headed outside to play in the rain while I made dinner.  PERFECT!

I LOVE this picture. Caleb and Sarah are so lovin' on each other and Logan is being his funny self.

Sarah's lips crack me up. She did this a lot!

I found Caleb eating dinner like this.

Crazy kids eating their Taco Bell one night.

Love this boy. Greg and Holly told all the kids before they left that no one was to misbehave.... except for Go-gi. He was the only one who was exempt from this rule.  And if you know this little boy... you'd understand. But look at that face.

Braeden eating his tacos

This was the very last day we were babysitting. Everyone was waiting for their mom and dad to get home (which was late at night)  Everyone had a long week of playing and some of the kids couldn't stay up any longer.  Logan fell asleep first.

These 2 guys were ALMOST asleep until they heard Braeden come in the room and say, "Can I have some ice cream?"  Then their eyes opened wide and didn't get close to falling asleep after that.  Dang ice cream.

Elli was out. And I didn't know she fell asleep for a while. I thought she was still watching her show.

These guys stayed in the office playing.... whatever that game is.

And then I turned on "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs" and they sat still for a while until their mom and dad got home.

We had fun.... after we got back home, we realized how quiet our kids were, but then again, our kids are still loud, just not 9 KIDS loud.

What's New

No surprise that Caleb figured out how to climb the tree.  Just put a bike up close and get up. Now he just needs to learn how to get down.

My Big 8 year old

Braeden had a super cool birthday party this year. He wanted the theme to be Legos. So.... that's what we did. We went swimming.....

(Caleb being thrown "again" in the pool)

We had a super cool slip 'n' slide

This is Cade

Caleb

We had a human bubble....

This is Oakley trying it out

We had a Lego station....

Then pizza....

A Lego Cake.....

(I understand this isn't the best cake.  This is supposed to be 2 Lego blocks on top of each other. It kind of looks like..... well, boobs.  But the boys thought it was a cool cake. They loved the Lego cake.)

Caleb grabbed a spoon and tried helping himself to some cake.

The result.... a very cute result!

More swimming

Carson

Oh wait, let's open presents. So everyone got out of the pool again to open presents.

This is seriously Braeden closing his eyes so the present he is opening is a complete surprise. Could he be any funnier??

More Lego building...
